Scrapbooking: a question

I started scrapbooking a long time ago... before kids. I've done a few pages, but not enough to say I'm really a scrapbooker or that I'm even good at it. I've been proud of the pages I've done, but they take an eternity to finish. Anyhow, with all the moving we're doing I really want to preserve the memories of the places we've lived. Any ideas on how to get going with the daunting task? I guess just DO it is the best bit of advice, but it's soooo hard to get started!
